Hirakiyama

Hirakiyama, located on Hakata Island, is one of the most beautiful spots on the Shimanami Kaido. At the top of the 149-meter-high mountain is the Hirakiyama Park. From the observatory, you can see the islands of various sizes in the Seto Inland Sea and three bridges: the Hakata-Oshima Bridge, the Omishima Bridge, and the Tatara Bridge.

Shimanami Kaido

The Shimanami Kaido is a freeway that connects Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture with Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture. The suspension bridge has a bicycle and pedestrian path attached to it, and a 70-km-long cycling road has been constructed connecting the suspension bridge to the public road on each island. Cycling along the road while enjoying the spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea is sure to be an exhilarating experience.
