Samekado Lighthouse
Samekado Lighthouse is a white lighthouse standing along the scenic Tanesashi Coast, one of the best-known coastal landscapes in Aomori Prefecture. Since its construction in 1938, it has served as a landmark for ships entering and leaving Hachinohe Port. Open grasslands spread around the lighthouse, creating a picture-like scene with the sea and sky. The JR Hachinohe Line also curves around the area, offering the charming sight of trains passing beneath the lighthouse.
Hachinohe
Hachinohe, a port town in southeastern Aomori Prefecture facing the Pacific Ocean, is known for its local cuisine made with fresh seafood and regional ingredients. Specialties such as senbei-jiru and ichigo-ni are especially popular. Markets and morning fairs bring energy to the city by day, while alleyway bars and izakayas fill with people at night. Exploring the seaside scenery while searching for great food is one of the best ways to enjoy Hachinohe.
