Mukaishima Rest Area

Take a ferry from Onomichi to Mukaishima, then follow the blue line on the Shimanami Kaido cycling course for a while, and you will see a sign for "Mukaishima Rest Area" along the sea. This is a place where cyclists stop to rest and relax, as well as a lookout point where you can see the beautiful Innoshima Bridge over the Mekari Seto.

Shimanami Kaido

The Shimanami Kaido is a freeway that connects Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture with Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture. The suspension bridge has a bicycle and pedestrian path attached to it, and a 70-km-long cycling road has been constructed connecting the suspension bridge to the public road on each island. Cycling along the road while enjoying the spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea is sure to be an exhilarating experience.
