Illumination at Sai Dori

The annual illumination held near the intersection of Sai Dori, which runs north-south in Kyoto City, and Gojo Dori, which runs east-west, is done by ROHM, one of Kyoto's leading electronic component manufacturers. ROHM, which is headquartered in this area, started illuminating the trees in 1995 to change the bleak landscape of the factory. During the illumination period, the trees along the streets are illuminated with about 860,000 of ROHM's LEDs, attracting many people.
