Ring Road

National Route 1, also known as the Ring Road, circles Iceland, connecting these coastal towns. Diamond Circle

In northeastern Iceland, the Diamond Circle is a classic tourist route that takes you through a variety of unique landscapes created by volcanic activity. Starting from the central city of Akureyri in the north, the 250km route will take you to the jade-colored waters of Lake Mývatn and the Dettifoss Waterfall, one of Europe's largest waterfalls, and other spectacular natural formations.
