The Champ de Mars is a park about 800 meters long and 200 meters wide that stretches at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The park was originally used as a military drill ground and horse racing track, but after 1867 it was used as a venue for the World Exposition, during which numerous pavilions were built. Today, the park is lush and green and is loved by citizens and tourists alike.
