Georgia is located in the Caucasus on the eastern shore of the Black Sea, surrounded by Russia, Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Tbilisi, the country's capital since the 5th century, is blessed with a diverse array of other attractions, from old and new Georgian Orthodox churches to historic spa towns and futuristically designed bridges. Other attractions include Kazbegi, known for its picturesque churches set against the spectacular backdrop of the Caucasus Mountains, and Mtskheta, with its beautiful medieval streets, as well as the national cuisine of Khachapuri and Khinkali, with its specialty wine.
