Gergeti Trinity Church

The Gergeti Trinity Church stands on a mountain near Stepanzminda, in the center of Kazbegi. The church stands alone at 2,170 meters above sea level, surrounded by the majestic Caucasus mountains. The scenery is beautiful, even among the treasures of Kazbegi, which has been praised as "the church closest to heaven”. The area is especially crowded with hikers during the summer season, when the grasslands are covered with colorful small flowers in full bloom.
