Ari Atoll, Maldives
Omadhoo
Omadhoo is an island in the eastern part of Ari Atoll. Rather than a resort island filled with tourists, it is an inhabited island where Maldivians live and work. Still, it has everything you might expect from the Maldives: powder-white sandy beaches, beautiful turquoise waters, and a vibrant house reef. Several guesthouses offer places to stay, allowing visitors to experience both local life and the laid-back atmosphere of a tropical getaway.
Ari Atoll
Ari Atoll is located to the west of the North and South Male Atolls and is the largest of the 26 atolls at 93 km from north to south and 33 km from east to west, making it one of the most popular atolls in the Maldives. It is easily accessible by seaplane or speedboat from the international airport in Male. It is one of the best dive sites in the Maldives in terms of the density and variety of fish, and is characterized by its many famous dive sites. The southern part of the atoll is also known as a spot where whale sharks can be seen.
