No. 1 Tadami River Bridge Viewpoint
The JR Tadami Line, which runs along the Tadami River in Oku-Aizu, is known for its beautiful scenery of trains running as if blending into the valley. Among the many viewpoints, the most famous is the spot where you can see the No. 1 Tadami River Bridge over the Tadami River from above. The collaboration of the majestic nature and the bridge is amazing, and many railroad fans and photographers visit the spot to take a photo opportunity of the train passing over the bridge.
Oku-Aizu
Located southwest of Aizu Wakamatsu, Oku-Aizu is a region of rich local culture and nature in the Echigo Mountains. Known as one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan, Oku-Aizu still retains precious original Japanese landscapes, such as steep mountains, rivers collecting melt water, villages and hot springs hidden in the mountains. Traveling on a local train on the Tadami Line connecting Aizu and Niigata, enjoying the scenery from the train windows, and visiting the mountains, towns, and hot springs along the line is becoming increasingly popular.
