Sultan Hasan Mosque
Sultan Hasan Mosque, a magnificent Islamic structure, stands overlooking the Citadel in Islamic Cairo. Built in 1363 during the Mamluk Sultanate, it houses both a mosque and a madrasa (institute). The mosque, built by Sultan An-Nasir Hasan at great expense, is still one of the most beautiful architectural structures in Cairo, and when you stand at the entrance or in the courtyard, you will be overwhelmed by its immensity and elaborate decoration.
