Kaochidani Valley

Kaochidani Valley is located in the mountains of Nabari City, upstream from Syorenji Lake. The ravine, which was formed by the erosion of rocks deposited by volcanic eruptions in the distant past, is 8 km long, and the towering columnar jointed rock walls on both banks create a magnificent view. The valley has beauty in every season, but it is especially famous for its autumn foliage, which attracts many visitors when the mountain surfaces turn bright red.

The Iga school of ninja was one of the most famous ninja in the Warring States period (1493-1590). In Iga and Nabari, there are many historical sites that preserve the atmosphere of those days and spots where you can experience the ninja. You can enjoy playing karakuri in a ninja house or think about the training of the ninja in those days in the beautiful nature.
