Longyearbyen

Longyearbyen, the central city of the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard, is the northernmost city in the world with a permanent population of more than 1,000 people and is located at 78 degrees north latitude. Spitsbergen

The Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic Ocean is an extremely cold region with glaciers covering much of it. The only inhabited island, Spitsbergen, is home to Longyearbyen, the northernmost town in the world, where more than 1,000 people have settled.
