Lake Pukaki

Lake Pukaki, which collects water from the Tasman and Hooker Glaciers originating from Mount Cook, is an alpine lake located at an altitude of about 520 meters. The milky blue surface of the lake, which is unique to glacier lakes, stretches out forever, and combined with the distant view of Mount Cook and the beautiful snow-capped mountains of the Southern Alps, it creates one of the most spectacular scenery in New Zealand. The lakeside highway leading to Mount Cook Village is a great place to drive and enjoy such wonderful scenery.
