Lake Pukaki
Lake Pukaki, which collects water from the Tasman and Hooker Glaciers originating from Mount Cook, is an alpine lake located at an altitude of about 520 meters. The milky blue surface of the lake, which is unique to glacier lakes, stretches out forever, and combined with the distant view of Mount Cook and the beautiful snow-capped mountains of the Southern Alps, it creates one of the most spectacular scenery in New Zealand. The lakeside highway leading to Mount Cook Village is a great place to drive and enjoy such wonderful scenery.
Mount Cook Area
Mt. Cook is the highest peak in the Southern Alps that traverse the South Island of New Zealand at 3,724 meters above sea level. This mountain is surrounded by many high mountains, vast glaciers, and beautiful lakes, making it one of the most magnificent natural areas in New Zealand. A World Natural Heritage site, it is a treasure trove of nature, and offers a variety of ways for tourists to enjoy it, such as trekking courses to enjoy the spectacular scenery and Cessna cruises to view the overwhelming scale of the glaciers from above.
