Miyako Island, Okinawa, Japan
Ikema Wetland
Ikema Marsh, a lush green paradise for waterfowl, spreads out in the center of Ikema Island. It is the largest marshland in Okinawa Prefecture, and offers a different kind of scenery in Ikema Island, which is known as a mecca for diving and snorkeling. In addition to birds such as ducks, herons, and grey-faced buzzards, the marsh is a precious habitat for a variety of creatures such as dragonflies, water beetles, tilapia, and land crabs, and you can catch a glimpse of them from the observatory on the shore.

The island is also popular for its beautiful beaches, which are said to be the best in the Orient, where you can experience the smooth white sand, and for driving on the bridge that connects the islands, which makes you feel as if you are flying over the sea.
