Shimanami Kaido Blue Line Loop Course, Hakata Island
Hakata Island is an island in the Seto Inland Sea, famous for its salt. It is a part of the Shimanami Kaido cycling course, but if you just take the Blue Line, you will only pass through after 3km. This is where the Blue Line Loop Course comes in. It is a 20km course that circles the island. The course has few ups and downs, making it easy to run even for beginners, and is full of beautiful scenery and places to eat the island's specialties.
Shimanami Kaido
The Shimanami Kaido is a freeway that connects Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture with Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture. The suspension bridge has a bicycle and pedestrian path attached to it, and a 70-km-long cycling road has been constructed connecting the suspension bridge to the public road on each island. Cycling along the road while enjoying the spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea is sure to be an exhilarating experience.
