The International Space Station (ISS) is a space station located around 400km above the Earth. While it circles around the Earth at a speed of 90 minutes per orbit, it is mainly used for research, experiments and observation of Earth and stars. The ISS program is a joint project among five participating space agencies: USA, Russia, Japan, EU and Canada. The Japanese Experiment Module (JEM), nicknamed Kibo, is a Japanese science module for the International Space Station (ISS) developed by JAXA. It is the largest single ISS module, and is attached to the Harmony module. Kibo was designed and developed with a view to conducting scientific research activities on orbit. In Kibo, a maximum of four astronauts can perform experimental activities. Currently, wide variety of scientific, medical, and educational experiments are conducted on Kibo.
