Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group (Daisen Park)

The Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group is a collection of tombs of kings and powerful families from the late 4th to late 5th centuries that still remain in the Osaka Plain. They represent the unique culture of Japan prior to the introduction of the Chinese Ritsuryo system, and are a valuable legacy of the high level of social structure and technology of the time. The Kofun (old mound) have been carefully protected even during the process of urbanization in Osaka, and are attracting more and more attention as they are registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019.

Senshu
