Bjarnarflag Power Plant
The Bjarnarflag Geothermal Power Plant is located in northeastern Iceland, on the route of the Diamond Circle, which takes in the country's beautiful natural scenery. The area around Lake Mývatn is a geothermal zone, and the abundant geothermal energy is used to generate electricity. The contrast between the white steam that billows up from the ground around the power plant and the small blue lake is beautiful, and it is a popular photo spot for people driving by.
Diamond Circle
In northeastern Iceland, the Diamond Circle is a classic tourist route that takes you through a variety of unique landscapes created by volcanic activity. Starting from the central city of Akureyri in the north, the 250km route will take you to the jade-colored waters of Lake Mývatn and the Dettifoss Waterfall, one of Europe's largest waterfalls, and other spectacular natural formations.
