Located in South Asia, Nepal is a landlocked country with mountainous regions covering most of the country, including the Himalayas, which are known as the roof of the world. The country is home to a series of 8,000-meter-high mountains, led by Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, and mountain climbing and trekking are popular to experience the spectacle of the mountains. There are many Hindu and Buddhist temples in the Kathmandu Valley, including Swayambhunath, Patan, and Bhaktapur. Nepalese cuisine with spices and herbs, such as momo and dal bhat, is also a delight.
