Shinagawa
The city of Shinagawa is located in the south of central Tokyo. Located at the mouth of the Meguro River where it empties into Tokyo Bay, Shinagawa prospered as a post town on the Tokaido Highway during the Edo period (1603-1868). Since the first railroad in Japan opened in 1872, the city has continued to develop as a terminal station connecting Tokyo and the provinces. Shinagawa is the perfect base for a stay with easy access to many places. It is also a popular tourist area with a variety of attractions such as a seaside boardwalk, a fashionable brewery, and a state-of-the-art aquarium.
