Blossoms of Mount Yoshino

Mount Yoshino is known as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. The sight of 30,000 cherry trees in full bloom one after another, enveloping the entire mountain in a pale pink color, has been described as "a thousand cherry trees at a glance" and has been loved by people since ancient times. The blooming season lasts for about a month in a vast area that stretches about 6 km from north to south, and shows various expressions depending on when and where you visit. Enjoying a leisurely stroll while visiting temples, shrines with deep history, and scenic spots is a standard way to spend your time.

Yoshino

Yoshino, a mountainous region located in the basin of the Yoshino River, has long been a place where mountain worship has taken root. Located just south of the Nara Basin, Yoshino has been the setting of many historical events, including the construction of the Emperor's detached palace in the Asuka Period (592-710) and the capital of the Southern Court in the Nanbokucho Period (1337-1392). In addition to the Yoshinoyama cherry blossoms, which have been a popular cherry blossom viewing spot since the Heian period (794-1185), there are many other attractive tourist spots scattered throughout the deep mountains, such as famous historical temples, campgrounds where you can enjoy beautiful clear streams, and hidden hot springs.
