Seven Stars tree
A variety of trees stand occasionally in the patchwork of fields in the vast hills of Biei. Among them, the Seven Stars tree is particularly famous as the symbol of Biei. It got its name in 1976 when its scenery was used on the package of Seven Stars cigarettes, and it still attracts tourists with its unchanged appearance more than 40 years later.
Furano and Biei
The idyllic landscape of Furano and Biei, with its patchwork of colorful fields on rolling hills, is familiar to many. On a drive through the flower fields that color the land with the peaks of Daisetsuzan Mountains in the background, you can enjoy the scenery as well as the gourmet food produced by nature's bounty. It is also a good idea to stay at a resort hotel nestled deep in a forest of white birches and enjoy the time flowing peacefully.
