Old Port of Dubrovnik
Stretching along the city walls to the east of the Old Town of Dubrovnik is the old-fashioned and charming harbor. It is one of the oldest parts of the Old Town and was the center of the prosperity of the maritime city of the Republic of Ragusa. Although it has now given up its leading role in shipping to the new port to the west, the beautiful medieval port is always crowded with tourists, with cruise ships departing for Lokrum Island and nearby towns.
Dubrovnik
Facing the azure Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik's solid medieval walls and orange roofs are still intact. The beautiful cityscape, which preserves the prosperity of the maritime city of the Republic of Ragusa, has been praised as the "Pearl of the Adriatic. After overcoming the civil war of the 1990s, Dubrovnik has regained its former glory and is attracting more and more attention as a major tourist destination in recent years.
