Shirifuki Pass
Nostalgic Japanese landscape stretches along the Tadami River, which flows through the mountains of the Echigo Range. One of them is the village of Oshi. The red and blue tin roofs, which are unique to the heavy snowfall region, add color to the deep green mountains and the shining water. This can be seen from above at Shirifuki Pass near Aizu Kawaguchi Station. The pass is a photo spot visited by railroad fans and photographers who aim to see the JR Tadami Line train passing through the village.
Oku-Aizu
Located southwest of Aizu Wakamatsu, Oku-Aizu is a region of rich local culture and nature in the Echigo Mountains. Known as one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan, Oku-Aizu still retains precious original Japanese landscapes, such as steep mountains, rivers collecting melt water, villages and hot springs hidden in the mountains. Traveling on a local train on the Tadami Line connecting Aizu and Niigata, enjoying the scenery from the train windows, and visiting the mountains, towns, and hot springs along the line is becoming increasingly popular.
