Heijo Palace Site

The magnificent Heijo-kyo Capital, modeled after the Tang Dynasty capital Chang'an, was located in the center of Nara City from 710 to 784, and prospered as a political and cultural center. The Heijo Palace, located at the northern end of the Heijo-kyo Capital, is now being developed and preserved as the Heijo Palace Site Historical Park. You can visit the Daigoku-den Hall and Suzaku-mon Gate, which have been restored to their original locations, or take a leisurely stroll through the wide open fields and reflect on the history that has been woven here.

Nara

Nara flourished as a capital city more than 1,300 years ago, and many temples and shrines that served as the stage for history remain here and there. In the center of the city, where there are no tall buildings and a calm atmosphere, Nara Park and the old streets of Naramachi spread out, and the sight of deer roaming freely in the park creates a unique landscape.
