Kokura

Kokura, one of Fukuoka's representative cities, developed as the castle town of the Kokura clan during the Edo period (1603-1868) and continues to thrive as the industrial and commercial center of Kitakyushu. Near Kokura Castle, with its lush seasonal gardens, there is a large commercial facility with stylish and colorful buildings, and a lively market with a retro atmosphere, all of which are unique to the city.
