Yakushima, Japan
Senpiro Falls
Senpiro Waterfall, known for its powerful waterfall and huge granite monoliths, is located in the Tainoko River in the southeastern part of Yakushima. The waterfall is characterized by its powerful appearance, flowing down a cliff with a drop of 60 meters in one fell swoop. The deep V-shaped valley through which the waterfall flows was created over a long period of time by the large amount of rain that falls on Yakushima. The nearby observatory offers a panoramic view of the entire area, making it a popular spot for tourists.
Yakushima
Floating on the ocean south of Kagoshima, the island of Yakushima is home to steep mountains, with the 1,936-meter-high Mt. Miyanoura. Thanks to the blessing of rainfall, which is the highest in Japan, the island has a great natural environment with deep green forests and many beautiful waterfalls. A variety of plants can be seen depending on the altitude, and the 1,000-year-old Yakusugi cedars that live in the highlands are carefully protected as a symbol of the island.
