Havana, Cuba
Malecón Avenue
The Malecón Avenue is a spacious 6-lane road that runs along the northern coastline of Havana for about 8 km. As its name means "breakwater" in Spanish, it has a series of high embankments on the beach side that do not block the line of sight, with ample room for sidewalks on the inside. The colonial architecture gives the street a nostalgic atmosphere, and one can catch a glimpse of the daily life of the locals, who are fishing and chatting lively with each other.
Centro Habana
Sandwiched between Old Havana, with its beautiful colonial architecture, and the Plaza de la Revolución, with its administrative offices and buildings, lies Centro Habana, a residential area with a nostalgic atmosphere. Laundry flutters on the colorful but slightly faded balconies of houses, and classic cars from the 1950s are parked by the side of the road. Walking down the alleys as you wish, you can fully enjoy the local atmosphere, as if time has stopped in the landscape of a long time ago.
