San Geremia
The San Geremia stands on the banks of the Grand Canal, about a 10-minute walk from Santa Lucia Station. The history of the church dates back to the 11th century, but the present building was constructed in 1753, and the facade took its present form in 1861. It is famous for housing the relics of St. Lucia.
Venice
Venice is a water city built on a lagoon on the Adriatic Sea. Cars and bicycles are not allowed in the city, and boats are the only means of transportation. A leisurely gondola ride through the canals while admiring the Renaissance and Gothic mansions is a standard part of any trip to Venice. The maze of alleys, historic bridges over canals, and other beautiful sights unique to a city on the water attract people from all over the world.
