Takada Castle Site Park
Takada Castle, built in 1614 as the residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu's sixth son, Matsudaira Tadateru, has now been transformed into Takada Castle Site Park. The park features a restored three-tiered turret, along with a history museum, art museum, and expansive lawns. The castle's moat offers a perfect path for strolls, becoming a popular relaxation spot for locals and tourists alike. It's renowned for its cherry blossoms and lotuses, attracting numerous visitors each season.

The southwestern part of Niigata, centered around Joetsu City, is rich in historic sites such as Kasugayama Castle, where the warlord Uesugi Kenshin once resided, and the Edo-period castle town of Takada.
