Kitakata

Kitakata is nationally known for its ramen noodles. It is also well known to tourists as a town of warehouses, with breweries and lacquerware factories that have been prospering since long ago, taking advantage of the rich soil and water, still remaining throughout the town. There are said to be more than 4,000 warehouses, some of which are designated as cultural assets, and visitors can enjoy a full city stroll, touring the elaborately designed warehouses and exploring the gourmet food, such as ramen and sake.
